My favorite cereal when I was in elementary school was Lucky Charms. I liked the sugary marshmallows and I liked the cheerio-like whole grain oats even more. Maybe I should have just eaten Cheerios. Now, whenever I eat breakfast I'm usually reading the newspaper. Most often, The USA Today sports section. But when I was getting ready for school, when I was younger, I didn't care about what was in the newspaper. So instead, I let my imagination take-over. I always imagined that Superman was battling bad guys in my cereal. All the time. Every morning. I pictured him as being about the size of a Lucky Charms marshmallow and every time I dug my spoon in the bowl, he hopped on. He was usually fighting somebody. I'd scoop up a spoonful of cereal, and as I was chewing, the cereal turned into boulders attacking everyone in sight. He'd fly from one side of my mouth to the other and try not to get bitten. Sometimes he'd get swept away by a flood of milk, and him and the bad guy would fall off the edge of their battleground, and get swallowed. The bad guy always fell all the way down and didn't get back up. But Superman always flew back up and out back into the cereal box so he could come back the next morning.
I was a pretty weird kid.
